PRISON OFFICER INJURED IN ATTACK AT HMP SWALESIDE IN KENT

RECENT RESEARCH REVEALED NUMBER OF PRISON OFFICERS IN HMP SWALESIDE WAS CUT BY 25 PERCENT OVER FOUR YEARS

Research by campaigners the Howard League for Penal Reform that the number of prison officers in Swaleside was cut by 25 in almost four years from 265 in August 2010 to 200 in June 2014.
The Prison Officers Association said the injury to the officer was caused by a bladed instrument.
A prison officer was injured and taken to hospital with facial injuries.
