President Trump predicted Monday that Republicans will perform well in the 2018 midterm elections - adding that he knew Roy Moore would lose in the Alabama Senate special election.
Republican Ed Gillespie lost the Virginia gubernatorial race last month to Democrat Ralph Northam, while Moore lost a close race in Alabama to Democrat Doug Jones.
The president had previously backed Luther Strange, the incumbent Republican senator who lost to Moore by nine points in the primary.
