GATINEAU DRIVER CAUGHT GOING 110 KM/H OVER THE SPEED LIMIT

THE DRIVER, 32, WAS GIVEN 11 TICKETS -- INCLUDING FOR EXCESSIVE SPEEDING AND NOT HOLDING A PROPER DRIVER'S LICENCE -- FOR A TOTAL FINE OF 3,849, GATINEAU POLICE SAID.

ON BOULEVARD DES HAUTES-PLAINES NEAR THE PARK OF THE SAME NAME IN THE CITY'S HULL SECTOR, GATINEAU POLICE SAID THURSDAY.

Officers intercepted a speeding eastbound SUV at around 10 a.m.
The driver, 32, was given 11 tickets -- including for excessive speeding and not holding a proper driver's licence -- for a total fine of $3,849, Gatineau police said.
During the short pursuit that followed, the driver reached speeds of 140 km/h, police said.
